Our family, originally from Naples, has always been tied to the land. My great-grandfather Castrese had a large farm. His DNA must surely be present in my dad Roberto who has lived in Tuscany since he was 16 years old.

 Roberto, with professional roots in both the insurance and real estate sectors, moved to Cortona with his children Claudia and Giuseppe in 1993 and restored the 16th Century Convent, part then of the Cardinal Passerini’s estate, creating his organic farm Relais Parco Fiorito. The new business has allowed Roberto to immerse himself in his lifelong passion for cooking and for nature.

At Parco Fiorito everything on the farm is grown organically. Overnight guests can dine on Claudia and Roberto’s delicious food and are encouraged to participate in their cooking classes held in the Relais. The peaceful beauty of the Tuscan and Umbria countryside, just 6 km away from Cortona, and the warm hospitality of “Russo family” make for an unforgettable experience.

The subsequent creation of a Wellness Area and a Fitness Indoor and Outdoor Area, contributed to the success of the Relais Parco Fiorito, Charming Relais, getting the highest  award of Five Ears.

I met a precious man, my husband Teodoru. Love, mutual respect, great confidence, strength, the common desire to create a beautiful family allowed us to give birth to four beautiful children: Sofia Maddalena, Alessandra Valentina, Ecaterina Elena and Giulio Roberto. The support of my husband and my father are the basement of my success as mother, wife and businesswoman.

I graduated in Economics in 2004 discussing a thesis, whose title was "The generational shift in tourist family business."

Collaborating in the Relais Parco Fiorito since 1999, I followed the footsteps of my father Roberto, worthy man who taught me the greatest secret: "do everything with love" ... and, after several experiences between the US and Europe, I dedicated myself full time at a Rural Development Plan, an ambitious project that will change the Relais Parco Fiorito.

The project involves the creation of a laboratory for the processing of milk from our sheep in butter, ricotta and pecorino. I like to imagine our buffet breakfast, that today already boasts many handcrafted products made with love, enriched by our new dairy products. The Umbria Region allows us to plant another hectare of vineyard, and the project also includes olive trees, fruits and spices, including saffron.

I replaced my father Roberto, still present and active, with the commitment to maintain and improve the results obtained from Him so that our guests could receive in the future excellent services.
